moonlets

Creature companions for your Claude Code sessions.

How it works

Sessions you're already having — Read, Edit, Bash, the rest — quietly grow a creature in your collection. Nothing else changes about how you code.

  1. 1

    Pick a starter

Three constellations to choose from. Each has its own evolution chain and move set. You can change your active later.

  2. 2

    Install the plugin

/plugin install moonlets in Claude Code adds three things at once: slash commands (/moonlets:status, /moonlets:roster), a tiny hook that ships your tool calls here, and a statusline that lives at the bottom of your terminal.

  3. 3

Your moonlet grows from your work

Every tool call earns XP. Hit a level boundary, the bar in your statusline fills. Hit an evolution threshold, your moonlet becomes something new. Diverse work hatches eggs of other species. Long-term play unlocks rituals for the rare ones.

It lives in your statusline

Nothing to switch to, nothing to keep open. You see your moonlet at the bottom of Claude Code, always — and only when something changes does the line shift.

+5 XP ◆ Inkfawn L3 [▓▓▓▓░░░░░░] 52/150
◆ Inkfawn L3 [▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░] 142/150 · 8 to L4

◆ Inkfawn L16 [▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░] 470/500 → Codex imminent

Per-species 4-frame animation, half-segment bar growth, gold chip on fresh XP, countdown to the next level + the evolution it triggers. Truecolor where supported, 8-bit ANSI fallback everywhere else.

Pick a starter, then wire two scripts.

Three constellations to choose from. After that, the moonlet grows from your real sessions — no manual grinding.

Every event is HMAC-signed by a secret that lives only on your machine. The hook script is auditable shell.
